World Tourism Day 2021

Each year on 27 September every tourism enthusiast celebrates World Tourism Day. Designated by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the special day has been commemorated for more than 40 years.

The World Tourism Day aims to encourage the development of tourism around the world as well as to raise awareness towards one of the worldโ€™s most important economic sectors. About millions to hundred of millions of people around the world earn their livelihood through tourism. It also allows people from each country to experience the diversity of the earthโ€™s rich nature and culture, which in turn, will bring a sense of commonality among all of us.

On this World Tourism Day, we remain optimistic that the travel and tourism industry will re-emerge stronger and more sustainable.

The theme for World Tourism Day 2021 is “Tourism for Inclusive Growth.” This year, we’ll be celebrating tourism’s ability to promote inclusive development and the role it plays in fostering respect while creating opportunities for millions of people throughout the world.
